Name Change Time!

For several years, this blog was called Wrath Of The Bitch Queen, which was inspired by the title of the second World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

So, if you’ve been following gaming news recently, you would probably know that WoW’s developer and publisher, Activison Blizzard, is in a bit of hot water with the state of California. It has been found that the company allegedly fosters an environment of sexual harassment. I’m not going to get into it too much, but let’s just say that it’s really bad.

I actually stopped playing WoW a little less than 2 years ago, but kept the blog name. Well, with these allegations I’ve decided that I really don’t want to have any kind of association with Activision Blizzard.

So this post is to unveil my blog’s new title: Katethulu’s Cave Of Mysteries! Honestly, I like this name a lot better too. The new url is katethulumysterycave.com, but the old url should redirect to the new site for the time being.

I look forward to this new chapter, and I hop that you do too. In the meantime, my Patreon, Ko-Fi, and PayPal are still around, if you would like to support the blog. I am inching closer to my current goal of buying a more powerful laptop to do streams and stuff.

Mythology Monday-Trading Spaces: Welsh Edition

Mythology Monday is back, baby, and today we’re going to go over the first part of the first branch of the Mabinogi, which is about a dude named Pwyll.

Note: Pwyll is not pronounced the way you think it is because, as is the case in most Celtic languages, nothing in Cymraeg is pronounced the way you think it is.

Mythology Monday: The Nine Maidens of Dundee

So, today we’re going to head to Scotland to talk about the folk tale “The Nine Maidens of Dundee.” Though that’s kind of a misnomer, since it’s not really about them. It’s more that what happens to them is the story’s inciting incident.

What happens to them is pretty unpleasant, by the way.

The State Of The Blog And An Announcement

So, I haven’t been updating the blog as much as I used to recently, and a pretty major part of that is that I’ve been feeling kind of burnt out on it. I had implemented a policy that, if I feel physically or mentally unwell, I wouldn’t work on it since all that really causes is stress and shit writing. The fact that the area I live in was in the midst of a horrifying heat wave for over two weeks certainly didn’t help in that regard.

Seriously, my room AC was running almost non stop during that time, and I really don’t want to think about what my electric bill is going to be like next month.

Anyway, I think I’m largely out of that slump now, and am going to at least try to get this stuff out on a regular basis. I’m probably going to drop the Short Story Saturday posts, though, instead publishing my short story reviews/analyses to when I see a story I want to talk about. This, I think, will reduce the amount of stress that I feel trying to work a day job and update this blog. The Mythology Monday posts will still be coming at a regular schedule, since those cause me less stress and generally don’t take as long to put out. The Star Trek recaps will continue on their own sporadic schedule, though I will do my best to get those out a little more frequently as well.

That said, I also wanted to branch out a little bit more as well. To that end, I’ve decided to start doing Lets Plays within the near future. By “near future” I mean at some point within the next couple of weeks. At this point it’s a toss up between whether I want to do Silent Hill or Dragon Age, though I’m leaning a bit more towards the latter since I think it’s a little more accessible. Tell me what you think, or if there’s any other games that you would like me to do.

And that’s about it, really. Currently I’m working on a review of Miitopia that I’m hoping to get out by the end of the week. In the meantime, if you wish to and have the means to do so, please consider donating to my Patreon, which is linked below. Or, if one time donations are more your thing, please consider donating to my Ko-Fi. I would really appreciate it, since I would really like for this blog and my other projects to be my full time job
