Announcements!

I have some news for the blog that may interest you.

The first is that I have obtained a USB microphone! This means that at some point in the near future, I will be adding new content. Namely, I will be adding gameplay videos with commentary. Yes, quite soon you will be able to hear me swear profusely as I suck at such games as Skyrim and Diablo III.

The other is that I have now created a Facebook page for Wrath of the Bitch Queen. You may find and like the page here.

That is all. You may now carry on with your day.

Undertale May Be Coming To Wii U

UNDERTALE_160129_1816466 //platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

It was recently revealed that Toby Fox, developer of the extremely popular RPG Undertale, had been approached by Nintendo execs about the possibility of porting the game to the Wii U.

Well, not necessarily recently. This tweet from Fox indicates that this actually happened a while ago, but we’re really just hearing about it now:

Undertale, an RPG about a young child who falls into an underground world populated by monsters, was released last September on Steam. It very quickly became regarded as one of the best games to have been released last year.

Why “Swatting” Isn’t Fucking Funny

swatter

This is a topic that I’ve been meaning to talk about for a while, but never really got around to it. Well, recently some chucklefuck decided that it would be a fun time to swat US Representative Katherine Clark for daring to support legislation intended to address this issue, so I decided that the time is right.

Why am I discussing this issue on what is largely a pop culture blog, you may ask? Well, you see, there are some members of the gaming community in particular that seem to find this “prank” absolutely fucking hilarious.

Insomniac Games and GameStop Working On Game

(Shoutout to Ken Schaefer for becoming a patron! Thanks, Dad.)

It’s been a topic of discussion recently that  the games retail giant GameStop has teamed up with Insomniac games (the developer behind the popular Spyro The Dragon and Ratchet & Clank games) to develop Song of The Deep.

The trailer actually looks quite interesting. It’s a 2-D sidescroller following a young woman named Merryn, who is the daughter of a fisherman. She had been entranced by his stories about the sea and the things he’s seen in his travels. When he goes missing, she gets in a makeshift submarine to find him and embarks on some adventures of her own.

The art style of the game has a rather Miyazaki-esque quality to it, and it seems to borrow a lot from Irish mythology. Also, I’m always up for having more female game protagonists.

I’m not going to lie, though: GameStop’s involvement in making the game kind of bothers me.

bitch planet

So, what do you get if you put Orange Is The New Black and Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale in a blender? I’m not really sure myself, but it would probably look like Kelly Sue DeConnick’s Bitch Planet.

This Just In From “Shut Up And Take My Money” News

mighty need

I have recently learned that there is an Etsy store called GameGuardians. Why is this important, you ask? There are tons of Etsy stores, some more successful than others.

Well, my friends, what makes this Etsy store unique is what it currently being sold in the store. You see, the proprietor of the store is selling handmade plushies of Falkor the luck dragon, from The Neverending Story:

falkor

That is what it looks like. I honestly thought it was a still from the movie until I took a closer look at it. Major props to the artist at GameGuardians who created it.

The artist, Laura Hosler, has apparently received about 1500 request from people wanting their own luck dragon; however, she can only put out about 15 per month, so the waiting list for one would be extremely long. However, for the more crafty among us, she will also be putting the pattern on the storefront for anyone who would like to make one of their own.

It’s worth checking out the rest of her store as well. She has some other dragon patterns up for sale that are both really cool and absolutely adorable.
