There’s Been Another Star Trek Series Announced…

Yup, that’s right. Sir Patrick Stewart announced at Star Trek Las Vegas this weekend that he will be reprising his role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. 
According to the article linked above, Sir Patrick had the following remarks:
“I will always be very proud to have been a part of the Star Trek: The Next Generation, but when we wrapped that final movie in the spring of 2002, I truly felt my time with Star Trek had run its natural course… It is an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions with him. ”
Personally, as the British would say, I am quite chuffed with this news. While my favorite Star Trek series now is Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation is the series that holds the most nostalgia for me, since it’s the one that I grew up with. Picard also ranks pretty highly on my list of favorite captains, so getting a continuation of his story is quite exciting to me.
We don’t have a lot of information as to a release date as of yet, but we do know that it will be airing on CBS’s streaming service. We also know that Alex Kurtzman, who served as an executive producer for the Star Trek reboot films as well as Discovery, will be serving the same role for this yet-unnamed series.
The only other thing I really have to say at this point is that I wish that shows didn’t have to be written or filmed, since I really wish I could watch it right now.

Star Trek: Discovery Recaps-“The Vulcan Hello”

Star Trek: Discovery premiered its last two episodes last Sunday, to the excitement of many (including myself). This is the first Star Trek TV series to air since Enterprise was cancelled in 2005. So far it seems to be pretty well received.

I thought about it and decided to recap the episodes as they come out because, let’s face it: at the rate I’m getting my other Star Trek recaps out, it could be years before I got to this series. Plus I really, really just want to talk about it.

So, we begin with this episode, entitled “The Vulcan Hello.” Just as a warning, I’m going over the entire episode under the cut, so spoilers abound.
